Gifts of the Sisters
The Catholic Principals' Council of Ontario had asked Dr. Mark McGowan to write a series of articles in the magazine Principal Connections on people who impacted the education of the province. One of the articles Dr. McGowan wrote was on Sister Bernard Dinan CSJ and it is in our news section below. His article ends with the words: "Her patient leadership provided wise oversight to the building of a Catholic school system of which 21st Century Ontario Catholics are fortunate beneficiaries." The Sisters' contributions in the field of health care were also recognized in two events, one held at Providence Healthcare, the other at St. Joseph's Health Centre, and both are in the news section below.

Sisters Write from Haiti, Honduras, Thompson and Toronto
This issue of E-News gathers stories from Sisters in Haiti, Honduras, Thompson... and Toronto. There’s even one about a Christmas past. They are stories of community and presence. Our prayers and reflection focus on the central theme of Advent - getting ready. Sister Gwen, in her Advent Psalm, invites us to "Still our fluttering minds with the purity of snow. Melt our chilled hope and let it shine." May your Advent be joyful.

A Move, an Online Exhibit and a Celebration
Each of the last three months has held its own excitement. The Sisters’ Administration Centre moved to 101 Thorncliffe Park Drive at the end of August. On Sept. 27, a new online site was launched, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the availability of post secondary education for women in Toronto, made possible by the efforts of the University of St. Michael's College Archives along with the Sisters of Loretto Archives and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto Archives. On Thanksgiving, the Sisters celebrated their 160th Anniversary. Read more about all these events, linked below.
